Overview
With Nexgate Sourcing you can request offers to help you quickly share vehicles you don't intend to retail and collect wholesale offers from trusted buyers, all within the platform.
Instead of managing offers through emails, phone calls, text messages, you can share a vehicle directly from Sourcing, track responses in one place, and compare offers before deciding the next step.
This feature is designed for situations where you've acquired, or are considering acquiring, a vehicle but have decided it isn't suitable for your retail inventory and would prefer to wholesale it or you required an offer input to decide on the best course of action.
What can you do with Request Offers?
With Request Offers, you can:
- Share a vehicle with one or more contacts, including wholesales or auction partners OR easily make the vehicle visible to your Group in Nexgate
- Set a minimum acceptable offer amount
- Decide for how long you are open for offers (1 days, 3 days, etc)
- Add additional notes about the vehicle
- Include vehicle details and inspection information
- Track offers received in one place
- Compare multiple offers before accepting one
- Notify buyers if their offer has been accepted
Why Use Request Offers?
Request Offers helps reduce manual administration by keeping vehicle sharing, offer collection, and offer tracking in a single workflow. It is also a great way for large dealership groups to share a common view on their vehicles available to dispose within Nexgate.
Rather than chasing responses across multiple channels, you can manage the entire wholesale offer process directly from Nexgate and make faster, more informed disposal decisions.
How Request Offers Works
Step 1: Open a Sourcing Opportunity
Navigate to the vehicle within Sourcing that you would like to dispose of.
This is typically a trade-in or acquisition that you do not plan to retail and would prefer to wholesale.
Step 2: Click 'Share' from the Opportunity
Once you click on the ‘Share’ button, it will show the option to request offers for that vehicle.
Step 3: Create an Offer Request
Select Request Offers and configure your request.
You'll be able to:
- Set an offer expiry period (default is 1 day)
- Enter a minimum acceptable offer amount, if necessary
- Add optional notes for buyers
- Indicate whether the vehicle is:
- In stock
- Incoming / subject to acquisition.
- Note that this will be selected by default based on your opportunity status. This will help make sure the buyer understands where you are with this acquisition.
- Include vehicle condition information [coming soon]
- Include all available vehicle photos (they are on by default but can be switched off). Noting that when turned on, any photos you add after sharing will also become visible to recipients.
Step 4: Choose Who to Share With
You can then share the request by:
Inviting specific contacts
Send the request directly to one or more wholesale contacts. If the contact is not on your list, simply type their email address or phone and add them to your list of contacts.
OR
Sharing via link
Copy the generated link and send it through your preferred channel, including:
- SMS
- Any other messaging platform
You will be able to see a PREVIEW of what your request looks like by clicking on the preview link or opening the URL generated.
Note: Please make sure to complete the share steps after creating it, otherwise even if the time has started, your contacts will be able to see the request.
What Nexgate Buyers will see
When a recipient receives your invitation, they'll be able to view:
- Vehicle details
- Vehicle condition information
- Images (when included)
- Supporting appraisal information
They can then submit a private offer by entering:
- Their offer amount
- Optional comments
- Purchase intentions or conditions
Buyers Without Nexgate Access
Buyers do not need a full Nexgate account to participate.
If the recipient doesn't have access, they'll be able to:
- Register with a lightweight account or use their carsales credentials (if they are a carsales logged in user), making it easier to share to more contacts.
- Provide basic contact information
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Submit offers securely through the shared page
Managing Offers
Once your request is active, Nexgate tracks incoming offers for you.
You'll be able to:
- View all active requests
- See how long remains before the request expires
- Review offers received
- Compare multiple offers
- Continue waiting for additional offers before making a decision
Offer Format
All offers are submitted as closed offers.
This means:
- If multiple Buyers submit offers, they cannot see competing offers
- Buyers cannot see who else has been invited
Offers remain private between the buyer and yourself
Note: Open offers are coming soon, where you see value on driving additional competition between potential buyers.
Accepting an Offer
When you're ready to proceed:
- Review the offers received.
- Select the preferred offer.
- Click Accept Offer.
Nexgate will notify the successful buyer that their offer has been accepted.
Note: If the time you set up has elapsed, buyers will not be able to submit offers. In the closed format, you will still need to accept the offer as the highest offer will not be accepted automatically.
What Happens After Acceptance?
Once an offer has been accepted:
- The buyer is notified, and,
- The seller and buyer can communicate directly to finalise the transaction.
Nexgate's role is to facilitate the offer process and help track offers in one place. The actual vehicle transaction takes place between the participating businesses.
Sharing With Dealer Groups
You may also have the option to make a request visible to members within your dealer group.
When shared with a group:
- All users that have access to Find Opportunities within the accounts that belong to the selected group can view the opportunity
- Group users can submit offers
- You can compare offers from within the group easily, ensuring better intragroup sharing flows.
Important Notes
- Request Offers is an optional workflow as other share flows within Sourcing.
- Version 1 focuses on sharing vehicles with own contacts and dealer groups. Future enhancements may introduce broader network-based buyer discovery capabilities. (Please do let your Customer Success Manager know if this is important to you)
